Ant Anstead has cooled off on the idea of marriage, spills an insider, telling OK! that the shift has disappointed his girlfriend, Renée Zellweger, to no end.
The couple, who hooked up last June, “were talking about getting hitched all the way through the holidays, but now when the subject comes up, he squashes it,” dishes the insider.
The motor specialist, 42, finalized his divorce from Flip or Flop star Christina Haack, with whom he shares son Hudson, 2, just last July, “and it’s dawned on him that he needs more time and space before committing to another marriage,” says the insider. (Anstead also shares teens Amelie and Archie with British ex-wife Louise.)

“He loves Renée, but all his old fears and insecurities are coming back,” the insider notes.

The Bridget Jones star, 52, who recently rented a $30,000-a-month home across the street from Anstead’s Laguna Beach pad, “is trying not to get angry, but she doesn’t understand why he’s suddenly got cold feet,” adds the insider. “Renée is crazy about the guy, and she’s hoping he’ll change his mind.”
As OK! previously learned, regardless of their squabbles over marriage plans, the happy couple feels like "they're soulmates" and are planning a future together. "Ant is such a good father, and Renée adores Hudson, and they want a baby together," an insider revealed. "Renée dotes on Hudson as if he were her own."
“They’ve still got things to figure out, like whether Ant moves into Renée’s rental or they buy a new house in Laguna,” explains the OK! source, adding that Zellweger was just happy to finally be with the man of her dreams.
And while it looks like Zellweger is on the brink of finally getting her happily ever after, the television personality responded, “Absolutely not,” just last month when asked if he and the Judy star were thinking about marriage.
