NEWSICE Agent Confronts Man Filming in Queens in Tense Encounter: 'You Pointed a Gun at Me?'
New Yorkers have voiced outrage at ICE agents in the city.

An ICE agent pointed a presumably loaded gun at a Queens, New York, resident who was filming him, prompting fears about the agency's increased presence in New York City.
The confrontation, reported on by AMNY, occurred on September 2, just one day after DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin threatened to flood New York City with more ICE agents.
ICE Agent Points a Gun at a Protestor
New Yorkers have largely protested ICE activity in the city.
The confrontation occurred on 24th Avenue between 97th and 98th streets in East Elmhurst. A Queens resident was filming the ICE agent with their phone from a public street, an action which is protected by the First Amendment.
The cameraman pressed his cell phone against the agent's vehicle as he protested ICE, yelling, "Get the [expletive] out of the neighborhood.
The ICE agent then lowered the window with his gun pointed at the individual.
“You pointed a gun at me?” the cameraman asked.
“You tried to break my window with a weapon,” the ICE agent contended.
“It’s not a weapon,” the cameraman responded.
“It is a weapon,” the agent answered.
Commmunity Members Condemn the Officer's Actions
After the incident, community members recalled those immigration officers have killed nationwide.
Community members were left stunned by the incident.
"A community defender was standing beside the driver’s side window of the vehicle when the ICE agent could be seen lifting a pistol and pointing it directly toward the community defender to the point that you could see directly down the barrel of the gun," an anonymous individual familiar with the confrontation told AMNY.
They continued, "ICE is a violent paramilitary force and is an imminent danger to our communities. This level of violence will only get worse until they are abolished.”

New Yorkers Demand Disciplinary Action
The incident came as Mullin bragged about ICE arresting 2,100 people in the city.
Murad Awawdeh, president and CEO of the New York Immigration Coalition, called for disciplinary action against the officer.
“Every American and every New Yorker has a legal and ethical right to film law enforcement, military or public officials without fear of arrest, violence or retaliation,” he said. “Pointing a gun at any person for exercising their legal right to record is an abuse of power and a direct attack on our individual rights.
Awawdeh brought up how immigration officers have already killed several U.S. citizens protesting ICE activity.
"We have seen the devastating consequences of putting armed ICE agents in our communities, from Minneapolis to Texas, where bystanders lost their lives. No New Yorker should have to fear being shot, threatened or killed because they are documenting the actions of ICE,” he said.
Secretary Mullin Falsely Claims New York Is a 'Crime-Ridden City'
Markwayne Mullin has been turning ICE loose in New York.
Secretary Mullin has been dredging up fear tactics to justify ICE's presence in New York. On September 1, he falsely claimed New York is a "crime-ridden city," when murder and robbery rates have greatly decreased under Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Mullin announced that ICE had arrested over 2,100 individuals in August, saying, "We will send as many people as we have possible to make sure that we’re restoring law and order. President Trump made this very, very clear. He loves New York. He made that very clear over and over again. He wants to see law and order restored.”
