Bill Maher Trashed for His 'Lame' Dolly Parton Tribute Monologue After Her Death: 'Miserable and Whiny'

Bill Maher made a few jokes in his monologue on a recent episode of his eponymous HBO talk show about the late Dolly Parton.

The Real Time with Bill Maher emcee, 70, opened his show on Friday, August 28, by thanking his audience for being "in a good mood."

“We did have a tough week,” Maher began. “Dolly Parton died, there was this terrible flooding in Nepal and I found out today that Canada has been treating me very badly.”

He then addressed the current conflict in Iran, as well as Donald Trump’s quest to rename Lake Ontario as “Lake America."

“All this is going on and all America could really talk about this week was how sad it was we lost Dolly Parton,” he continued.

“You see everybody around the country, even around the world — London, they’re doing things. The Santa Monica ferris wheel is lit up with hearts, the Empire State Building was put up in pink,” he said of the global tributes done around the world in honor of the country music icon's passing.

“The sphere in Las Vegas added a n-----,” he joked, referencing Parton’s chest enhancements.

Fans were not thrilled about Maher's quips about the "Jolene" crooner, taking to social media to blast the comedian.

“Even Trump refused to be s----- about Dolly Parton in her passing. It’s wild that Bill Maher would choose to be this much of a s--- bag about a beloved person on both sides of politics,” someone penned.

Variety even called the monologue the “lamest Dolly Parton tribute yet.”

"He's such a miserable [and] whiny b----. Whoever's still watching him needs to stop so HBO will cancel him," a user scoffed. "What a a schmuck," another person rolled their eyes.

Parton died on August 25 at the age of 80 at a Nashville medical center following a brief battle with cancer. She was admitted four days prior for kidney and autoimmune issues.

The Steel Magnolias alum had been suffering with various heath issues in the months prior to her passing, and she's set to be buried next to her late husband, Carl Thomas Dean, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Tennessee.

Trump, 80, released a heartfelt tribute to the singer shortly after her death. "Very sad to report that Dolly Parton, one of the greatest Country singers, and far beyond, EVER, has just passed away. This is a true loss for millions of people," he wrote on Truth Social.

"There has never been anyone like her, and never will. In her honor, I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States for a one week period beginning tonight at 6:00PM. Rest in Peace, Dolly! The World loves you. President DONALD J. TRUMP," the POTUS concluded.
