Ever since they announced their shocking split in 2016, embittered exes Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have waged a fierce battle in the courts.
Now, an insider tells OK! that after years of being caught in the crossfire, their children, Maddox, 20, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 15, and 13-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, have had enough.
“They’re well aware that instead of things calming down, Brad and Angie despise each other more than ever,” says the insider. “They’ve pleaded with both of them to put aside their hatred, but it’s falling on deaf ears.”
Indeed, hostilities reached a new level of intensity in February when Pitt, 58, sued the Eternals star, 46, for selling her stake in Château Miraval, their $168 million French estate and winery.
According to papers the actor filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Jolie secretly off-loaded her shares to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler, despite an alleged agreement that neither would sell their share without the other’s approval.
“Ironically, [Château Miraval] is where Brad and Angie tied the knot in 2014, and they had so many wonderful times there as a family,” notes the insider. “The bigger irony, of course, is that by letting this fight consume them, they are wiping out all those happy memories for the kids."

In the meantime, Pitt and Jolie have yet to agree on a permanent custody arrangement, and last year, the Maleficent star continued to hint publicly about Pitt’s alleged domestic abuse. (“It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children,” she stated in a September interview.)
“It’s hard on the kids because they love their dad and want him to be happy, but they want Angelina to be happy too,” adds the insider. “But they’re old enough now to understand what’s going on. Their parents are so caught up in this ugly divorce that they can’t see how much they’re hurting their kids — and that’s breaking their hearts.”
All in all, the insider concludes Brangie's brood is suffering as a result of their parents' constant conflicts: "They all just wish their mom and dad would put weapons down and give each other a break."
