Brad Pitt's Grueling Custody Battle With Ex Angelina Jolie Has 'Taken Its Toll' On Him, Source Claims Actor Is 'Not Mentally Ready' To Date Anyone
Down in the dumps. Brad Pitt is feeling the effects of his ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
The former couple, who wed in 2014, have been fighting over custody of their children since calling it quits on their marriage in 2016. After years of court proceedings, the estranged pair still have yet to finalize a custody agreement of their six children: Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, Lennox, 13, and Vivienne, 13. (The two also share Maddox, 20.)
A source recently revealed to Us Weekly that Pitt, 57, is having a hard time dealing with the nasty custody battle, and feels as though there is a “huge cloud hanging over him.”
“Brad is working hard and staying as positive as he can be right now,” the source told the outlet. “This whole war with Angelina has really taken its toll [on him].”
Last week, it was revealed that a California Supreme Court denied the Moneyball actor’s petition to review the custody case after the judge who granted him 50/50 custody of the kids was later removed for failure to disclose his relationship with Pitt’s attorneys.
In recent court documents, Pitt requested that the court review the judge’s exit, a request that was confirmed to have been denied last month.
“We will continue to do everything that’s legally necessary based on the detailed findings of the independent experts,” a spokesperson for the embattled actor said at the time, noting that his estranged wife was “pleased that her children’s wellbeing will not be guided by unethical behavior.”
Despite the ongoing ups and downs for both parties in the custody battle, Pitt is trying to keep his cool.

“Thankfully he has his own incredible willpower to count on,” the source continued. “Plus a wonderful support group and the tools he’s learned in recovery when times get super tough.”
The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor has opened up in the past about his struggle with alcohol addiction, previously citing his “boozing” as one of the reasons his marriage with the Maleficent actress fell apart.
The source also told the outlet that Pitt has no plans on getting back into the dating game anytime soon, as he doesn’t think dating is a “priority” at this time.
“He’s just not mentally ready and doesn’t know when he next will be,” the source revealed, noting that he has been on “some dates” and had “some fun over the past few years,” but that he is mainly focused on his family for the time being.
Meanwhile, Jolie is soaking up all the time she can with her kids — even while she travels the world to promote her new Marvel film.
Last week, the mom-of-six was all smiles as she was spotted galavanting around Rome with her brood while in town for the Eternals premiere in Italy.
