'Malicious Tittle-Tattle!': Ex-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Slams 'Rumors' of Late Queen Elizabeth Calling Him 'an Idiot'
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 60, who served as the late Queen Elizabeth II's 14th head of government, has dismissed allegations Her Majesty called him "an idiot."
The claim appears in author Tim Shipman's upcoming book Out, in which the late monarch reportedly shared the insult to family members shortly after Johnson resigned as prime minister two days before her death.
On September 6, 2022, the late sovereign allegedly told family at a Balmoral Castle gathering, "Well, at least I won't have that idiot organizing my funeral now," according to the unnamed source.
Johnson shot back during an interview with GBN's Patrick Christys by stating, "I think it's highly unlikely that she said that. Because, of course, no Prime Minister organizes the funeral. It's done by DCMS (Department for Culture, Media and Sport)."
He added, "I think it's possible that it's malicious tittle-tattle, and what I can say, as I do say in my book Unleashed, I only mention her for the second time in a very decorous way. I try to give a picture of what it was like to meet her and the truth about the relationship."
Christys asked, "So, would you deny the Queen called you an idiot?"
Johnson curtly replied, "I'd like to know the source of that. I'm told by Shippers that it was a courtier to a Tory cabinet minister, which is three removed and I think it's highly unlikely to be accurate."
Shipman also wrote how the revered monarch made the statement on September 6, 2022, right after Johnson stepped down and Liz Truss became her final prime minister. The gathering apparently included "treasured staff" in addition to her family, and the Royal Household, who runs the British monarch's court, "widely shared" Her late Majesty's sentiment about the controversial head of government.

The "love him or h--- him Brexit PM" released his autobiography in October, which was labeled "the memoirs of a clown" by one U.K. outlet. In addition to "Megxit," Johnson also wrote about his time with the late Queen and disclosed details about her health during the twilight of her reign.
He wrote that Her late Majesty "for more than a year, had a form of bone cancer and her doctors were worried that at any time she could enter a sharp decline."
Johnson also shared specifics about his final meeting with Elizabeth II, two days before her death.
"She seemed pale and more stooped, and she had dark bruising on her hands and her wrists," Johnson observed. "But her mind... was completely unimpaired. She still flashed that great white smile in its sudden mood-lifting beauty."
