An Uber Eats driver was arrested after a dispute over a food order escalated into a violent brawl at the Barstool Sports HQ.

An Uber Eats delivery driver was arrested after a verbal dispute over a food order escalated into a violent, caught on camera brawl at Barstool Sports' Manhattan headquarters. The incident occurred around 2:00 PM on Monday, August 24, at the media company's Midtown office.
The altercation began in the hallway when an Uber Eats driver got into an argument with Barstool employee Gia Mariano regarding her food order.
A Barstool security guard named Dan stepped into the hallway and instructed the courier to leave the premises. The driver then launched a physical assault, knocking the guard to the ground and repeatedly striking him.
'Beat Him Up Pretty Good'
An Uber Eats driver attacked the Barstool Sports office's security guard.
"We had a crazy scene today at Barstool World HQ. An Uber Eats driver got in a fight with Gia in the hallway over her order. Our security guard went into the hall to tell the guy to leave and he attacked him," Barstool Sports found Dave Portnoy explained. "Beat him up pretty good. Treated Security Dan like a vacuum clean. Luckily Stool Sales Guy (Gaz) [real name Paul Gulczynski] saved the day pulling him off."
The security guard was treated at the scene and required stitches. Police arrived shortly after and placed the driver under arrest.
A company spokesperson stated they were "horrified by the conduct displayed," confirming the courier's access has been permanently revoked and that they are cooperating with the New York Police Department.
Dave Portnoy Is Not a Fan of Zohran Mamdani
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy posted footage of the scuffle on social media.
posted the security footage online, praising his staff for their quick response while taking sarcastic political jabs at New York City leadership, ending his viral post with, "Shoutout Mandami's NYC," intentionally misspelling the mayor's last name.
The bitter remark was meant to pin the blame for the chaotic city environment and security breakdown directly on Mayor Zohran Mamdani's leadership.
This jab builds on a months-long feud Portnoy has maintained against the Democratic Socialist mayor.

The delivery worker was arrested.
Portnoy has repeatedly blasted Mamdani's progressive policies as "anti-business." He has frequently teased a potential run for New York City mayor against Mamdani, claiming "billionaire after billionaire" has offered to fund his campaign war chest.
Portnoy has drawn sharp contrasts between their backgrounds, stating at a public interview, "Unlike Mamdani, who's never had a job, I've had a real job, and I've actually done a lot of good.”
The security guard got stiches for his injuries.
Mamdani, who currently holds a 69 percent favorability rating citywide according to a Siena College poll, has implemented steps toward universal access to childcare across the five boroughs. In addition, he paused traditional city tax lien sales and established a dedicated Deed Theft Office to protect vulnerable homeowners from fraud.
Since taking office, the mayor has focused heavily on neighborhood-level improvements, including municipal infrastructure updates and playground renovations.
Despite the Uber Eats dustup, according to data, the city experienced its safest start to a year on record, with major crime falling nearly 6 percent year-over-year.
