Dr. Dre Reveals He's 'Doing Great' & Will Be 'Home Soon' After He Suffered A Brain Aneurysm
Rapper Dr. Dre has suffered a brain aneurysm and is in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
The 55-year-old — whose real name is Andre Romelle Young — was taken to the hospital by ambulance on Monday, January 4.
The doctors are conducting tests to determine the cause of the bleed. Fortunately, the musical artist is "OK" and "lucid," a source told PEOPLE.
Meanwhile, pal LL Cool J wrote an update on Tuesday, January 5, and said that "Dre is recovering nicely." That same day, Dre shared an update himself.
"Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes," he wrote on Instagram. "I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"
Celebs and fans took to the comments section to wish him well. “Still Dre!” Conor McGregor wrote. “Legend !!!! Thank you for this !! This is beautiful!!” Deon Taylor said, while DJ Scratch left several prayer emojis.

Pal Ice Cube shared a snap of the pair on Twitter and wrote, "Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre."
Snoop Dogg shared a picture of the duo on Instagram with the caption, "Legends ICONS."
The "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper also uploaded a video with Dre, writing, "🦾 PR🙏🏽YERS UP 🦾."
Dre's hospitalization happened in the middle of Dre’s divorce from Nicole Young — the former flames are in a legal battle about the validity of their prenup agreement.
Young wants $2 million per month in temporary spousal support and $5 million in attorney fees, but Dre has been paying all her fees and believed the attorney cost was outrageous.
Young claims that Dre ripped up their prenup early in their marriage and wants the judge to reject it, which Dre denies.
The former couple wed in 1996 and share two children, Truice, 23, and Truly, 19, before they called it quits in 2020.
TMZ was the first to report the news about the brain aneurism.
We wish Dr. Dre a speedy recovery!
