Erika Jayne's Story That Ex Tom Girardi 'Needed Surgery' Following Burglary Discredited By Detective On The Scene: Report
Caught in a lie? Erika Jayne’s account of her estranged husband Tom Girardi’s burglary has reportedly been discredited.
During the latest episode of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, the singer claimed that Girardi needed “some sort of surgery” after confronting a burglar at their mansion in Pasadena, Calif.
However, the detective who arrived at the scene insisted that wasn’t the case — and that the 82-year-old “wasn’t injured” at all.
“Tom was sleeping in his bedroom and he heard someone in the closet,” the detective told The Sun. “Tom called out and thought it was the son, but he couldn’t tell because it was dark.”
The detective claimed that Girardi “heard someone and saw a shadowy figure and he called out the son’s name, but no one responded.”
“Tom showed me where he believed some cufflinks were taken. They were missing from the closet,” he added.
The detective also shared that Girardi — who was diagnosed with Alzhiemers disease months earlier — might have been confused about what really happened.

“He gave a statement saying he was traveling all over the place, but it just didn’t seem like that was possible, it didn’t seem like he would because he was pretty old,” the detective told the outlet. “So I don’t know if it’s like dementia or Alzheimer’s started kicking in or something like that.”
The source revealed that police contacted Girardi’s brother to check on him, but that the department suspended the case due to a lack of evidence.
“We didn’t have any security video, or security cameras. We didn’t have any leads and we suspended the case because we really didn’t have anything to go on,” the officer said.
The report is shocking considering that Jayne — who is wrapped up in her ex-husband’s embezzlement scandal — told quite a different story during a RHOBH episode that aired on Wednesday, September 15.
“Tom’s house was broken into, and he confronted the burglar and then he had to go have eye surgery and then my son had to go over and help and then, my son, he rolled over his car five times on the way home,” Jayne told costar Kyle Richards during the episode.
“I got a call at 3 in the morning — but didn’t get it until 6 — from [the] Pasadena police department that Tom’s home had been broken into. … He confronted the burglar and then he had to go the hospital and then have some sort of surgery, I don’t even really know,” she said.
Richards later told cameras that she didn’t buy her costar’s story: “There seems to be a pattern. We’ll spend time with Erika and find out later that there was this big situation in her life going on that she doesn’t share with us."
“When Erika withholds information, she just makes it hard to be able to support her,” Richards added.
Dorit Kemsley also spoke on the issue during the episode, adding that Jayne’s story of the burglary and the car accident seemed “bonkers” and that there were “details missing.”
As for her son Tommy Zizzo’s alleged car accident, the police source claimed that the accident did not occur in Pasadena, but that there was a similar incident that happened around the time of the burglary.
