Jes Staley opened up about his relationship with one of Jeffrey Epstein's assistants, whose name was redacted in the documents.
Talking to the House Oversight Committee, per a transcript released on Wednesday, Staley said, “I met her at his townhouse.”
“We met and began to have a dialogue and it turned flirtatious. And we met and had one intimate encounter,” he went on.

Jes Staley told the House Oversight Committee that he had an 'intimate encounter' with Jeffrey Epstein's assistant.
Additionally, the ex-Barclays chief was adamant that the sexual encounter with the woman was consensual and not set up by Epstein.
When the Justice Department’s “Epstein files” showed that he exchanged around 1,200 communications with Epstein between 2008 and 2012, Staley was brought in by the House panel.
At the time, he was the head of JP Morgan’s Private Bank, and Epstein was one of his clients.
Jes Staley Recalled the 'Intimate Encounter' With the Woman

Jes Staley claimed the 'intimate encounter' was consensual and not set up by Jeffrey Epstein.
Staley went on to claim that the assistant, who was allegedly “in her twenties or thirties,” invited him up to her Upper East Side apartment in New York one morning in 2009 or 2010.
“I think we talked. I believe we were sitting on her couch together while we talked. And one thing led to another, and we had an intimate engagement,” the banker testified.
When pressed about how he was sure that the sexual encounter was consensual, Staley said, “My recollection is, she invited me into her bedroom.”

Jes Staley claimed the woman invited him over 'months after' they first met at Jeffrey Epstein’s residence.
Per his account, the woman invited him over “months after” they first met at Epstein’s residence.
Apparently, they had crossed paths up to a dozen times before and after, but only had the one sexual encounter, which Staley claims he never told Epstein about.
He proceeded to say that he was not aware if the late financier and child s-- offender had ever instructed women to have s-- with his associates.
When an investigator informed him that the said woman had “sued Mr. Epstein for sexual abuse and settled with his estate,” the former Barclays chief indicated he did not know Epstein had ever abused his assistants.

Jes Staley addressed questions about a woman in a Snow White costume during his Epstein testimony.
In the transcript, Staley was also questioned about whether he had ever seen or had s-- with a woman dressed as Snow White at Epstein’s residence.
The transcript also showed that investigators provided him with a photograph that Epstein emailed to a redacted name on July 11, 2010, of a young woman in a Snow White costume.
However, Staley claimed he did not know who the woman in the costume was and maintained he did not recall ever seeing her with Epstein.
