Gavin Rossdale gave a glimpse of how he spent summer, pairing a collection of personal snapshots with a heartfelt reflection on a season shaped by grief, family and moments of joy.
"That was summer. We began with heavy hearts, grieving our loved PK Katsis," Rossdale wrote on Instagram. "But there was much healing, love and time with the fam."
Katsis was Rossdale's longtime manager and close friend who died August 6 at 69 after complications from congestive heart failure
Rossdale added a simple caption to the carousel: "Simple times in a beautiful ocean."
Rossdale Looked Back on Time With His Sons
Gavin spent the summer with two of his sons.
The carousel included relaxed moments with Zuma and Apollo, along with photos of the veteran singer-songwriter enjoying time with the boys away from the spotlight.
One picture showed the musician embracing Zuma, while another captured him alongside Apollo while near the water.
Gavin also included several appearances by his dog, Kaya, who featured in snapshots from walks, drives, pool days and time relaxing at home.
He Called Zuma an 'Incredible Person'
Zuma turned 18 this summer.
Zuma's 18th birthday, which also fell during the summer, gave the Bush frontman another reason to celebrate.
"What an incredible person you are. You have always been so special but you're taking that into adulthood," Gavin wrote in a birthday tribute. "It's a thrill to be around you. Your heart is on point. Your music is insanely good."
He also praised his son's confidence in the water.
"And you're a hero in the ocean. Taking on the big waves here on vacation," Gavin wrote. "I love you. we all love you. Let's celebrate tonight. It's a big birthday. I'm so proud of you. Love dad ❤️."

Gwen Stefani Also Celebrated Their Son
Gwen celebrated her son Zuma's birthday with an Instagram video.
Gwen Stefani marked the milestone with a nostalgic Instagram video tracing Zuma's life from childhood to his 18th birthday.
"I cannot believe u are 18 today!!" the Grammy-winning songstress wrote. "Watching u grow into the sweetest + most talented young man has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. we love u soooo much Zuma."
Her montage included childhood footage of Zuma singing and playing the guitar, along with more recent moments showcasing how much he has grown.
Gavin and Gwen Share Three Sons
Besides Zuma and Apollo, Gavin and Gwen share son Kingston.
Zuma is the middle child of Gavin and Gwen, who also share Kingston, 20, and Apollo, 12.
The two married in 2002 and got divorced after roughly 13 years together. They have continued co-parenting their sons while building separate lives and careers.
Music remains a family tradition. Zuma has performed publicly in recent years, while Kingston has also pursued music, giving both brothers a chance to explore the creative world their parents know so well.
