Gillian Anderson is certainly worthy of a "crown."
The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2020, were presented on Sunday, April 4, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The ceremony was broadcast live on both TNT and TBS, airing for one hour rather than the usual two.
Tuning in virtually, The Crown cast member was presented with the award for Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in the Netflix royal drama, beating out fellow nominees: Ozark stars Julia Garner and Laura Linney and her The Crown co-stars Olivia Colman and Emma Corrin.
Although the pre-taped show didn't include a red carpet, due to COVID-era changes, Anderson still brought her fashion A-Game. The fabulous 52-year-old looked ravishing in a red strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown featuring an elegant sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice.
She also added some bling by way of a Chopard jewels, including a necklace from the “Green Carpet Collection,” featuring 43.11-carats of pear-shaped diamonds set in 18k white Fairmined gold and a ring from the “Precious Lace Collection,” featuring 1.32-carats of diamonds set in ethical 18k white gold.
