Vintage Vibes
It may have taken two odd years, but it seems the roaring '20s are finally in full swing — well, at least in the world of beauty! Stars including Lady Gaga and Halsey sported retro-inspired makeup while posing for the cameras on the Grammys red carpet. To channel your inner vintage vixen like these celebs, start by creating a small wing with a gel pot liner for extra pigment and crispness — we love Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. Finish this classic pinup look with a volumizing mascara — our go-to is Milk Makeup's KUSH High Volumizing Mascara.
This timeless eye makeup pairs perfectly with any lip color, from a simple pinkish nude shade as seen on Lady Gaga to a classic red rocked by Halsey. There are plenty of stunning nudes in Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick collection that we love, and you can find the perfect red with Dior's Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick in 999 — a neutral-toned true red, this color beautifully flatters any skin tone. To capture Halsey's ombre effect, try lining the lips with a brown lip liner from MAKE UP FOR EVER's Artist Color Pencil collection, extending the color into the outer third of the lip before applying the lipstick.

Gold & Graphic
While some stars kicked it old school, Megan Thee Stallion and DJ Millie took a more sexy, modern approach to their Grammys makeup. Both celebs sported fierce graphic eyeliner atop a base of shimmery gold eyeshadow. If the thought of straying from your tried-and-true daily cat-eye in pursuit of Grammys glam sparks terrifying visions of massive, mismatched wings and liquid liner disasters, don't worry we've got you covered! With a little bit of preparation — and some DIY rulers — even an eyeliner novice can get this sultry look.
After prepping your lids with your favorite primer — our pick is Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion — grab Melt Cosmetics' Rust Eyeshadow Palette. Sweep a complimentary matte brown shadow — a few shades darker than your skin tone — onto the outer corner of the lid and blend into the crease and out towards the tail of the eyebrow for a cat-eye-like shape. Then, using your finger, gently tap a sparkly gold shadow — such as Melt's Tarnish — onto the center and inner corner of your lid.
Before diving in with the liquid liner, grab your matte brown shadow and an angled brush and begin mapping out the shape of your graphic wing. Using a straight object — like a tube of mascara or an eyeliner pen as a makeshift beauty "ruler" — make sure both sides of your wings are even. Once you're happy with the shape of your liner, trace with a precise, fast-drying liquid liner. We love Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. And trust us when we say its micro tip has singlehandedly averted more than a few would-be beauty disasters!
Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion retails for $25 at sephora.com.
Melt Cosmetics' Rust Eyeshadow Palette retails for $58 at sephora.com.
Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner retails for $23 at sephora.com.
Cool Details
Throughout the evening, several celebrities cooled the red carpet with eye-grabbing blue-toned details, including Billy Porter's deep, indigo lip, the unforgettable sky-blue metallic eyeliner accentuating Lil Nas X's eyes and Diplo's icy-blue hair.
To try these cool details — sans reaching straight for the blue hair dye — try pairing a neutral eye look with a deep blue lipstick, like KVD Beauty's Epic Kiss Nourishing Vegan Butter Lipstick in Bluepink, or applying a sweep of Kaja's Moon Crystal Sparkling Eye Pigment in Cosmic to your inner eye corner.
KVD Beauty's Epic Kiss Nourishing Vegan Butter Lipstick retails for $22 at sephora.com.
Kaja's Moon Crystal Sparkling Eye Pigment retails for $19 at sephora.com.
