Hayden Panettiere was allegedly taking some type of medication when she passed away from a suspected overdose in a South Carolina residence on Sunday, August 16.
The reveal came in reporting officer Matthew Bryan's recount, as he claimed the actress' on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, "showed" him a "bag of medication" Panettiere was taking after she was pronounced dead.
Inside the Police Report

Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was present when she was pronounced dead.
There were a total of nine medications listed on the report, but the names were redacted, so it's unclear if any of them were actually prescribed for Panettiere. Narcan, a nasal spray treatment used to reverse an opioid overdose, was also found at the loft, though it's unclear if it was used by the former child star.
The officer was wearing a body camera when he responded to the scene, but the footage has not been made public.
His report noted that Hickerson's brother, Zach Hickerson, was also at the residence with the actress, who was 36 when she died.
While the cop said Zach was "very emotional" while medical professionals were "working on Hayden," Brian did not show any emotion until Hayden was pronounced dead after going into cardiac arrest.

Brian Hickerson served time in jail for violence against the actress.
Brian and Hayden had a tumultuous on-off relationship from 2018 to 2022, which included Brian spending time in jail for violence against her.
It's unclear when the two reconnected romantically, with one insider claiming Hayden was likely "hiding" the rekindled romance from her friends.

'She'd Do Better When He Wasn't Around'

An insider said the former child star would 'gravitate back' to Brian Hickerson when she was 'feeling alone.'
"She’d do better when he wasn’t around, and people close to her could see that," one source told People of Brian. "But when she was struggling and feeling alone, she’d gravitate back toward him."
"That was always the sad part," they added. "She really did want to get better and stay sober, but the person she felt safest being around when she was struggling wasn’t necessarily the person who was going to help her get there."
Hayden Panettiere Was Given 'Happy Pills' as a Teen

The 'Nashville' star recalled in her memoir how someone gave her pills to boost her energy when she was just a teen.
"It can be an incredibly lonely world when you’re struggling like Hayden was, both mentally and with her sobriety," the insider said. "She wanted to be sober, but there were times when she couldn’t handle feeling judged by people around her."
The mother-of-one — who gave up custody of her daughter to ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko due to her struggles — previously revealed that her substance abuse began when she was a teen. She recalled how someone on her team gave her "happy pills" before a red carpet event.
"They were to make me peppy during interviews," she spilled. "I had no idea that this was not an appropriate thing, or what door that would open for me when it came to my addiction."
