Heidi Montag had nothing but nice things to say about Dolly Parton following the country icon's death, highlighting her as one of the few celebrities who didn't pile on criticism about her plastic surgery.
"When I was at one of the hardest and most criticized moment of my life after my plastic surgery, Dolly was one of the only people in the industry who didn't take the opportunity to drag me down," The Hills alum, 80, wrote in a lengthy post shared via X on Friday, August 28.

Dolly Parton said she'd do the 'same thing' as Heidi Montag if she could 'afford it' when defending her against plastic surgery criticism.
According to the reality TV star, Parton publicly defended her against criticism of her plastic surgery, saying, "I had probably done the same thing if I was her age and could afford it, if I thought I needed it."
Montag praised the late country icon for standing by her side during the hard time in her life, adding, "Thank you, Dolly."

Heidi Montag underwent a 10 hour surgery that consisted of 10 procedures in a single day.
"I remember when she came to my small town when I was seven years old, ate at my family restaurant, sang happy birthday to my Grammy, and it changed my life," she continued. "She has always been an inspiration to me. Such a blessing from afar. God bless you thank you Lord for this angel on earth."
In 2009, Montag was 23 when she made headlines for famously undergoing 10 plastic surgery procedures in a single day. The 10-hour surgery included a nose job, chin reduction, a b----- augmentation and liposuction around her body.

Five days before her death, TMZ reported that Parton was hospitalized with "kidney and autoimmune issues" on August 20.
She was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where she later passed away surrounded by her loved ones.

Dolly Parton was laid to rest next to her late husband, Carl Dean.
Dolly's niece Lainey Parton confirmed the singer was honored in a "small, private" ceremony attended by her immediate family at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville on Friday, August 28.
The Grammy-Award winner was laid to rest beside her late husband, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025 at age 82. The couple was married for 58 years.
