Hilaria Baldwin Breaks Silence Following Husband Alec's Tragic Fatal Shooting On Set Of 'Rust': 'Heartbreak. Loss. Support'
Hilaria Baldwin has spoken out following husband Alec Baldwin’s accidental shooting that took the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.
“My heart is with Halyna, her husband, her son, their family and loved ones,” the mother-of-six — who shares Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo and Maria with the 63-year-old — wrote in a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, October 26. "And my Alec."
“It’s said, ‘There are no words’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident,” Hilaria continued, before offering up her own words to represent the tragic incident: “Heartbreak. Loss. Support."
As OK! previously reported, the 30 Rock alum, 63, was in the middle of rehearsing for a scene when he discharged a firearm believed to be a prop on set of Rust in New Mexico on Thursday, October 21. However, the weapon had a live round of ammunition in it that accidentally killed the Director of Photography.
According to a search warrant obtained by Front Page Detectives, Souza — who was hospitalized but later released — told authorities that he recalled hearing the phrase "Cold Gun" (which typically means the prop gun did not contain any live rounds) being used when preparing for the scene.
(Following the incident, Alec asked “Why was I handed a hot gun?” multiple times in disbelief, per New York Post.)

It’s obvious that the incident has been weighing heavily on Alec. In photos obtained by Santa Fe New Mexican, the actor appeared to be distraught while talking to someone on the phone while leaving the sherrif's office headquarters following questioning.
One day later, the It’s Complicated star issued a statement on Instagram that read, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours."
"I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family,” Alec added, noting, “My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna."
Production on Rust has been since been shut down indefinitely. Meanwhile, a source told People that Alec — who was said to be "hysterical and absolutely inconsolable for hours" — is "canceling other projects to take some time to himself and re-center himself" following the tragedy.
Hilaria and Alec exchanged vows at the Basilica of New York's St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in June 2012.
