Kaia Gerber got real about the pressures of growing up with supermodel mom Cindy Crawford, admitting the constant scrutiny surrounding her appearance took a toll on her.
"As someone who’s been thin most of my life, I’ve always been compared against my mom," Gerber, 24, shared in an interview with Vogue, published on Tuesday, August 11.

Kaia Gerber is Cindy Crawford's only daughter.
"I’m so jealous of my mom’s body. I would have loved to be born with b---- and a butt," the Saturday Night actress admitted. "People have always commented on my body, which is hard because I’m not always ready to comment on my own body, you know?"
Gerber explained she's suffered from "disordered eating" throughout her life, which refers to a broad range of abnormal eating habits including restrictive eating, binge eating and compulsive overeating, per the National Institutes of Health.
Kaia Gerber Struggled With Her Mental Health
Kaia Gerber confessed to suffering from disordered eating throughout her life.
"People are like, 'You look terrible,' and it doesn’t exactly make you go, ‘Oh, good. Let me get over this mental illness then!’ Negativity has never saved someone’s life," Gerber continued.
The American Horror Story star confessed the criticism has only intensified, as she believes Hollywood is "in one of those cycles right now where people are very, very, very thin."

Kaia Gerber 'Wishes' She Looked Like Mom Cindy Crawford
Kaia Gerber said it's an 'honor' to be compared to her mom.
Gerber made headlines earlier this month when she brushed off claims that she resembled her mother, 60, after stepping out in a silver mesh dress, almost identical to one Crawford wore in 1999.
"In all seriousness, it’s an honor when people tell me I look like my mom," she told Yahoo! Entertainment on August 3. "I wish I did. I think even on my best days, I’m not even close."

Kaia Gerber is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Casamigos co-founder Rande Gerber.
Though she didn't necessarily see it herself, it "meant so much" to be compared to her mother.
"I think she’s just the most beautiful woman inside and out," the brunette beauty gushed of Crawford. "And so if there’s any way that I remind anyone of her, it’s just, like, the largest compliment."
In the past, Gerber has acknowledged that her famous mother helped boost her modeling career.
"I don't think it’s a topic that will go away, so I’ve clearly reached a point of acceptance," she told WSJ of the "nepo baby" label in February 2024. "I personally am very aware of all the wonderful things it has done for me, and I would never, ever say anything negative about it, because that is my truth about it."
