Distance makes the heart grow fonder, even if it's only from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills.

While Ben Affleck was acting like ever the doting dad picking up his son, Samuel, 10, in Santa Monica on Wednesday, April 27, his soon-to-be wife, Jennifer Lopez, was hitting the shops in Beverly Hills.

Looking ruggedly handsome, the actor donned a grey T-shirt, which put his biceps on full display, that he paired with black jeans and grey sneakers, as seen in photos obtained by Daily Mail.

The Argo actor was seen making a run for it across the street, seemingly to scoop up his youngest of the kids he shares with Jennifer Garner. (The former spouses also welcomed daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13, before their 2015 split.)

After uniting with Samuel, the doting dad, who rocked a salt and pepper beard, carried his son's blue lunch box in one hand while holding onto his kiddo in the other.

And while Affleck was on dad duties, Lopez appeared free to enjoy her alone time while shopping for luxury clothing. Stunning in a colorful pastel top and stylish, loose-fitted blue jeans, the Marry Me actress was seen hitting the shops, including the Gucci and Brunello Cucinelli locations on the city's notorious Rodeo Drive, per the outlet.

Bennifer 2.0 has certainly been busy as of late with house hunting and planning the rest of their lives together — not to mention their parental duties, which Affleck proves to still be on top of.

OK! reported Affleck, 49, and Lopez, 52, have been searching high and low, meaning everywhere from Bel-Air and Beverly Hills to the Hidden Hills, for a new place to call home. The power couple was most recently spotted house hunting over the weekend in the exclusive Hidden Hills neighborhood after their $50 million Bel-Air estate deal fell out of escrow.

And if looking for a new property to add to their real estate portfolio isn't time consuming enough, they still have a wedding to plan — which is apparently proving to be a daunting task for the two.

Affleck and Lopez — who reconciled last year after calling their initial nuptials off in 2003 — are reportedly clashing over wedding details, with the Latin pop star hoping for a more grand event while her beau wants something on the smaller side with just friends and family.
