Jimmy Fallon joked about White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's possible next role now that she's resigning from the West Wing.
The Tonight Show host quipped she was moving on to an "easier job" as the press secretary for Taylor Farms lettuce, the agricultural producer linked to a widespread outbreak of intestinal illness.
The joke came during his Wednesday, August 12, monologue, hours after President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Leavitt would step down at the end of August to spend more time with her family.

Fallon set up the punchline by riffing on news that Trump had secretly switched planes due to security threats, leaving his staff stranded on Air Force One. Fallon joked that Leavitt was one of the blindsided staffers left behind on the tarmac.
Reports revealed that during a security scare leaving a NATO summit in Turkey in July, Trump was secretly transferred to a smaller military aircraft via a catering truck due to an Iranian missile threat.
Meanwhile, Leavitt, along with over 100 other White House staff members and reporters, remained on the main Air Force One aircraft, which acted as a decoy flight.
'She's Moving on to an Easier Job'
The comedian quipped the mom-of-two will work for Taylor Farms amid their parasite outbreak.
“That story again, Karoline Leavitt was definitely one of the staffers left on Air Force One,” Fallon said. “It’s like, ‘Oh, really? You didn’t take me?’”
“Yeah, apparently, she’s moving on to an easier job working as the press secretary for Taylor Farms lettuce,” he quipped.
Taylor Farms is currently under scrutiny by the FDA for a major cyclosporiasis parasite outbreak that caused severe stomach issues for thousands of people across multiple states.
