Kanye West Named As Suspect In Physical Altercation, Rapper Under Investigation By L.A.P.D For Alleged Battery
The L.A.P.D has named Kanye West as a suspect in a physical altercation that allegedly occurred in the early morning hours on Thursday, January 13.
According to TMZ, the "Gold Digger" rapper was involved in a heated argument around 3 A.M. in Los Angeles, Calif., near the Soho Warehouse.
Law enforcement told the outlet that Ye allegedly shoved and then punched a male fan he had been arguing with, knocking him to the ground. The man was said to have asked him for an autograph.
The billionaire rapper is now under investigation for misdemeanor or "simple" battery — defined as the willful or unlawful use of force or violence on another person. Simple battery is often punished by a fine but can potentially warrant a max sentence of six months in jail.
West was also reportedly caught on video shouting sometime between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. "Did y'all say that or not? Did y'all say that or not?" he was heard saying in the clip. "Cuz that's what happened right f****** now."
It is unclear whether the video was directly related to the reported battery incident or a separate verbal altercation.

Earlier that night, the "Donda" artist was seen partying in West Hollywood with his new flame, Julia Fox. As OK! previously reported, the couple first sparked dating rumors on New Year's weekend when they were spotted on a romantic dinner in Miami.
The pair later confirmed their romance with an intimate photo shoot for Interview magazine.
"I met Ye in Miami on New Year’s Eve and it was an instant connection," the Uncut Gems actress wrote of their budding relationship. "His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night."
