Kim Kardashian is officially a fashion icon.
The reality star, 41, stunned in a skintight black catsuit, as she accepted the Fashion Icon Award at the 2021 People's Choice Awards. She paired the edgy look with gloves and big dark sunglasses.
The SKIMS founder was presented the award by last year's winner, Tracee Ellis Ross. "To receive the award from the fashion icon herself," Kardashian gushed. "I am so honored. Thank you."
"I am honestly so humbled to be here. I mean, I started off as a closet organizer and a stylist. So the fact that I am winning a Fashion Icon Award, it's like a pinch-me moment," she said. Kardashian added that there was once a time where designers didn't want to work with her.
Kardashian then surprised the audience by thanking her estranged husband, Kanye West, who recently changed his name to Ye.
"To Kanye for really introducing me to the fashion world. I fell in love with fashion and I'm so inspired by so many people but again, this is like a dream that I get to wake up and wear these amazing clothes and try new things and take a risk," she added. "I'm so humbled."
Kardashian filed for divorce from Ye in February, but the estranged couple appears to be on good terms. Earlier this year, she attended all three of the rapper's Donda listening parties. They also attended their late friend Virgil Abloh's final Louis Vuitton show together in Miami last month with their eldest daughter, North.
"For nearly two decades, Kim Kardashian West's style evolution has disrupted and influenced trends on a global level and cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with within the fashion industry," Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Live Events, Specials & E! News, NBCUniversal Entertainment Television and Streaming, previously said in a statement. "For being a cultural inspiration, trailblazer and so much more, we can't wait to honor Kim with this year's People's Fashion Icon award."
