Luke Bryan is once again pushing back on accusations that he released a song created by AI.
The rumors erupted around his single “Fish Hunt Golf Drink,” which came out earlier this year, as trolls and social media commentators claimed the song was written by AI rather than humans — an accusation the American Idol judge has strongly denied.
How the Rumors Started
Luke Bryan has been accused of releasing an AI-generated song.
The song is credited to Bryan, Chase McGill and Matt Dragstrem, three human songwriters.
"We wrote it, and it just started... this whole narrative got started," the "Sorority Girl" singer said on Theo Von's "This Past Weekend" podcast. "That’s the crazy thing about where we’re at with social [media]. They started a narrative that we AI-ed it. And now, whether you like the song or not, or whether you like me as an artist, whether you like what I'm about or whatever…"
Bryan went on to share that he can't win as a public figure.
"Back when I wore tight jeans ... then I was the tight-jean guy, so you go through all these phases," he explained. "I don't wear tight jeans anymore, now I'm the guy that somebody said that I AI-ed a song and wrote it. It's a fun song!"
Luke Bryan Is Really Mad About the Trolls' Behavior
Luke Bryan discussed the controversy with Theo Von.
The rumors are really hard to dispel, unfortunately.
"You get one or two kids with a bunch of Instagram, a bunch of followers, that say we AI-ed it, and then the whole world goes on their narrative," Bryan observed. "Once they started that chatter, it was pretty crazy."
The Georgia native is pretty angry about this whole ordeal.
"They’re like at a camera going, 'I hate you.' And I’m like, 'I can see your face. If I see you one day, I’m going to f------- knock the s--- out of you, dude,'" he said, adding, "People have lost their minds."
He continued, "I’m not sure I’m happy about a bunch of teenagers telling a 50-year-old man he’s a piece of s--- songwriter. And then I’m like, 'Dude, you’re 16. You’re talking to a grown man who’s made a s--- ton of money doing this.' It’s just so far out there. I’m like, if I caught my kids doing some stuff like that, I would kill them."

Bryan released 'Fish Hunt Golf Drink' earlier this year.
Plenty of TikToks and Instagram Reels have been made about Bryan’s song, while country music fans on X have also echoed the same claims.
"I'm convinced Luke Bryan writes his songs with AI," one social media user wrote. "Ask ChatGPT to write a country song, and you'll get a Luke Bryan song. I don't understand how he has fans, when he appears to me to be a personalityless mid-wit."
"So is Luke Bryan trollin with his new song or did he let AI write it," someone else said.
Luke Bryan Has Addressed the AI Controversy Before
Bryan has addressed the controversy before.
It's not the first time Bryan has had to defend "Fish Hunt Golf Drink."
In June, the country star told NBC4, "We’ve had some negativity out there. Some trolls kinda saying that I 'AI'-ed it, which is completely false. That song was designed for one thing. To have fun and to tell the world what I love to do and what I strive to do."
