Maria Bartiromo is suddenly out at Fox News.

Longtime Fox News host Maria Bartiromo has suddenly "parted ways" with the network.
Fox announced on September 3 that, effective immediately, the 58-year-old host is out after 12-and-a-half years hosting numerous programs.
No Reason Given
Why Bartiromo is leaving remains a mystery.
“We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter,” the company said in a press release. No reason for the sudden departure was given.
Bartiromo, who last appeared on Fox in early August, was the host of Fox Business' Mornings with Maria and Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street, as well as Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
Rotating anchors will tackle Bartiromo's Fox Business programs when they return on September 4, while Jason Chaffetz will take over Sunday Morning Futures.
Her former shows will now be called Mornings with Fox Business and FBN's Wall Street.

Bartiromo joined Fox in 2014, after she hosted CNBC's Closing Bell. She's been seen as a trailblazer for women in financial media throughout her career. At Fox News, her reporting took a more conservative turn after she was largely apolitical earlier in her career. She regularly hosted members of Donald Trump's cabinet on her show.
Bartiromo was largely a zealous Trump loyalist on air, and pushed his claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. She was prominently mentioned in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit against Fox News as a person who pushed unfounded conspiracy theories of fraud.
Fox settled the lawsuit for $787 million out of court.

J.D. Vance Says He 'Doesn't Think' Bartiromo Is in Line for Press Secretary
J.D. Vance did not indicate Bartiromo could be up for press secretary.
Notably, mere hours after the announcement, Vice President J.D. Vance was asked if Bartiromo was a candidate to become the next White House press secretary, which is currently a vacant position after Karoline Leavitt departed in August.
Vance tepidly denied it would happen, saying, "I don’t know, man. No, I don’t think so."
He added, “I love Maria, I think she’s an amazing person, an amazing talent."
He also said he doesn't “get involved in the personal drama of media stations.”
Bartiromo joins a prominent list of media personalities who have departed from Fox News. Current Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was a Fox anchor before joining the Trump administration.
Tucker Carlson Had a Similar Departure
Bartiromo's exit is similar to Tucker Carlson's.
Other prominent figures departed from the network for less positive reasons. Bill O'Reilly was let go from the network in 2017 over sexual misconduct allegations.
Tucker Carlson, once a star anchor for the network, similarly left Fox News in 2023.
Like Bartiromo, Carlson's departure was announced suddenly, and featured the same "agreed to part ways" phrasing that Fox used for Maria — though it later was revealed that he was fired.
Carlson's departure was acrimonious, and it was reported that he was given a chance to comment on his firing, but elected not to. Bartiromo also did not have a comment in Fox's announcement of her departure.
