Melissa Rivers Wants ‘Kink Expert’ Guest For Her Podcast Following Armie Hammer Scandal: ‘I Didn’t Know There Was A Whole Thing With Cannibalism’
No subject is off limits when it comes to Melissa Rivers' hit podcast.
Inspired by the varied, fascinating, and hilarious conversations she has with her friends, Group Text With Melissa Rivers takes on a broad array of topics from politics, parenthood, and pop culture, to everything in between...maybe even cannibalism?
"The first thing everybody wants is you to stay in a very specific lane," the popular television personality says candidly, recalling the journey to creating Group Text. "And I don't live my life or my interests in one lane."
Rather than allow herself to be boxed in to a niche little group of topics when pitching her podcast, instead, the show is as free, fun, and creatively evolving as Rivers is herself. "I have a bunch of different groups of friends and different things appeal to everybody, why should I limit myself?"
Not only is no topic off limits, but there isn't anything too spicy for the former Red Carpet commentator either, and there is one sizzling subject that the former Fashion Police co-host is eager to tackle.
Rivers is itching to discuss the controversial and titillating topic of "weird sex stuff", especially in light of the Armie Hammer scandals that shocked fans this past year.
The embattled actor allegedly checked into treatment for drug, alcohol, and sex addiction related issues back in late May following a series of troubling sexual assault accusations that included claims that not only had the Call Me By Your Name leading man been unfaithful to ex Elizabeth Chambers, but he reportedly had an obsession with sadistic sexual fantasies and cannibalism that were not always consensual.

"You know, we're a pretty sophisticated group and there's like, I didn't know there's a whole thing with cannibalism, you know?" The TV host spills eagerly. "I'm trying to find an expert that can talk to us about all these different...I guess, kinks."
"I don't know anyone who ever wanted to eat something of you know, another human, so hey," she adds humorously. "Obviously, I would love to have Armie Hammer, but that's not gonna happen...but it's an interesting topic."
"Nothing's off limits," she reiterates, though if cannibalism isn't off limits then there probably isn't much that is! "Again, if I find it interesting, I'm going to assume other people find it interesting."
Daughter of comedic legend Joan Rivers, she also teases other dream guests she'd love to have on her show one day, including President Joe Biden, and Comedy Central funnyman, Dave Chappelle.
Rivers explains her fascination with the Half Baked actor and comedians in general, saying, "You have to be smart to be funny, and I think he's brilliant, and how he's managed his career is brilliant, and I would love to know how he could just walk away at one point, at the top of his game. What made him wanna come back?"
Though some subjects that make it onto the show are serious, and some are fun and games, ultimately, Rivers says she is fascinated with "how people get to be who they are" and she is ready to ask the right questions so she can share those incredible stories with the world.
