The 85-year-old Hollywood veteran was photographed in Venice as he prepared to celebrate the premiere of his latest movie, Company, at the star-studded event.

Nolte's trip to Italy marks a relatively rare public outing for the Prince of Tides star, who has largely stayed away from the celebrity spotlight in recent years. He sported longer gray hair and a scruffy beard for the red carpet event.
The actor was in town as the 83rd Venice International Film Festival continued on Tuesday, September 8, with Nolte's latest project among the movies generating buzz at the annual event.

Company unfolds across multiple generations, beginning on a winter night in 1975 when a mysterious woman arrives uninvited at a holiday gathering.
Her appearance sets off a series of interconnected stories spanning decades, including one involving an aging hermit who rescues an actress stranded during a Colorado blizzard in 1953.
The film ultimately explores grief, vengeance, forgiveness and the ways compassion can help people heal.
'Company' Marks Casey Affleck's Third Film as a Director
Casey Affleck wrote and directed 'Company,' which also features his sons, Indiana and Atticus Affleck, among its ensemble cast.
Company also marks a major return behind the camera for Affleck, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ron Hansen. It's his third feature as a director following 2010's I'm Still Here and 2019's Light of My Life.
Affleck has described the new movie as the unexpected conclusion to a trilogy, explaining how Company ultimately asks how people can "make peace" with the lives they've been given. The filmmaker said he only realized after completing the project that it connected thematically to his previous two films.
Nick Nolte Has Spent Decades in Hollywood

The actor became one of Hollywood's most recognizable leading men with movies including 48 Hrs., Down and Out in Beverly Hills and Cape Fear.
He's also a three-time Academy Award nominee, earning Best Actor nods for The Prince of Tides and Affliction and Best Supporting Actor nomination for Warrior.
Nick Nolte has continued taking on new roles into his 80s, including appearances in 'Die My Love' and 'Company.'
Though his public appearances have become less frequent, Nolte has continued working into his 80s.
In 2025, he appeared opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson in Lynne Ramsay's Die My Love, which competed for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Now, his appearance at another major international film festival puts the spotlight back on Nolte as Company vies for Venice's top prize. The Golden Lion winner will be selected by this year's jury, led by Maggie Gyllenhaal.
