Perez Hilton's Podcast Co-Host Gives Bleak Update on Show's Future After Blogger's 'Suicide Attempt'

Perez Hilton's longtime podcast co-host is sharing a somber update after the celebrity blogger appeared to harm himself during a TikTok livestream.

“I am so profoundly sad for Perez and his family and what they’re all going through,” Chris Booker wrote in an Instagram statement. "It's truly unimaginable.”

Booker — who co-hosts “The Perez Hilton Podcast with Chris Booker” — explained that he had “spoken only briefly” with Hilton’s family and wanted to respect their request for privacy during the difficult time.

“Even the family is struggling to get updates due to the confidential security measures in place at the hospital because of how many people are trying to get information,” the podcaster continued, noting that “any updates will come via PerezHilton.com.”

Booker also addressed the future of their long-running podcast, saying everything is currently on hold.

“As for the shows (iHeart Podcast and Patreon), it’s all TBD at the moment as our collective focus is on his health. I certainly hope to continue them with my friend when the time is appropriate,” he continued, adding that he will “give updates” on the shows “when the time is right.”

Reflecting on their years of working together, Booker emphasized how much support Hilton has received from listeners.

“We’ve done these shows for over a decade now, and the support from our listeners has been resounding. He is very loved,” Booker concluded. “I can only hope that he feels it. Heal up, friend.”

As OK! previously reported, a video circulating online appeared to show the celebrity blogger using a knife to cut himself while he was n----- during a livestream. The footage reportedly remained on TikTok for about three minutes before it was removed, and the platform has since suspended Hilton's account.

Following the incident, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office confirmed in an emailed statement that deputies received numerous calls reporting that an individual was livestreaming “a suicide attempt” on social media.

After responding to the Miami home of a man who was not publicly identified, the Sheriff's Office announced around 9 p.m. that he had been “safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.”

Officials said deputies first spoke with family members outside the residence and confirmed the man was alone inside the home.

Authorities explained that deputies focused on pacifying tactics while responding to the situation instead of immediately entering the home.

“In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance and opportunities for communication,” the statement read. “Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies and the public.”

According to an outlet, the individual was “safely recovered” and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
