In an essay for Newsweek about climate change, the Prince of Wales mentioned Prince Harry by name. He praised Prince William for launching the Earthshot Prize and Harry for highlighting, "the impact of climate change, especially in relation to Africa, and committed his charity to being net zero."

The nod to his youngest son could be a peace offering after a tumultuous past two years ever since Harry and wife Meghan Markle stepped back from their senior royal duties in March 2020.

Royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti told Us Weekly that Queen Elizabeth II had made two speeches about the environment, where she mentioned the work her late husband, Prince Philip, had done, as well as William and Charles. However, according to Sacerdoti, the monarch did not mention Harry.

The royal expert noted the 95-year-old's comments did not seem "vindictive," and that she was focused on praising senior working royals, which Harry no longer is.

Sacerdoti also reportedly emphasized how Charles made a point of mentioning both his sons in the essay. "So, I think that’s perhaps a peace offering, let’s say in the court of public opinion, played out in a magazine, which appears to be the way that Meghan and Harry like to do things," he told the publication. "So in a sense, he’s making a peace offering, and he is doing it on their turf. That is, to say, in the public gaze."

According to Sacerdoti, the royals would have preferred to deal with the fallout in private, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "haven’t given them that option." He added that the royals will have to "find new ways to [make progress]" with Harry and Meghan.

As previously reported by OK!, Charles and Harry are communicating again following the drama that unfolded when Harry chose to leave his royal life behind and bash those closest to him during bombshell interviews. However, it's not said to be "all roses" between them, as a source candidly explained, "It’s not like they are sitting down for a heart-to-heart on the phone once a week."

Tensions rose between the royals and Sussexes after Harry and Meghan alleged during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that a member of the royal family had concerns about the color of their son Archie's skin before he was born. The Suits alum also claimed she asked for help for her mental health but was denied. In addition, Harry insisted his father and older brother were trapped in royal life.
