Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now allegedly 'need King Charles' as an uncertain new year looms for the Montecito "biggest losers."

"Meghan and Harry need the King and his blessing far more than the King needs them, sadly, so I feel we will be seeing them," royal author Ingrid Seward dished when discussing the future of the Sussex/royal rift.

"Obviously King Charles wants to see his son and his grandchildren, and last summer he apparently invited them to Balmoral, which they turned down," she added before highlighting the ongoing court drama Harry will face in 2024.

Seward continued: "We'll certainly be seeing Harry because he’s got to reappear for some court cases. Harry's been very clear that he doesn’t want to come to the U.K. unless he has the kind of protection he expects. Most of his court cases are ongoing, but in particular with the Home Office, he's really put his foot down on this."

The Duke of Sussex recently gained a legal victory in his endless battle with the media, as he won the upper hand in a phone hacking case against Mirror Group Newspapers. His case for police protection while in Britain is still ongoing, amid the uncertainty of where his and Meghan's careers will land next year.

"Something is beginning to unwind at the heart of Meghan and Harry," PR expert Mark Borkowski told an outlet. "I think 2024 is going to be seismic, either because they’re going to do something to recover and find a new positive tactic, or it’s going to be the undoing of the brand. It can only go one or two ways. It can’t stay where it is at the moment. Because it’s clearly not working."

In what many experts and commentators call a "firm signal" that Hollywood is no longer interested in the duo, being labeled as "losers" by the industry's namesake outlet "will be hard to overcome."

A February 2023 episode of 'South Park' is said to have turned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle into a 'running joke' for many.

"In 2020, the royal duo fled a life of ceremonial public service to cash in their celebrity status in the States. But after a whiny Netflix documentary, a whiny biography (Spare — even the title is a pouty gripe), and an inert podcast, the Harry and Meghan brand swelled into a sanctimonious bubble just begging to be popped — and South Park was the pin," The Hollywood Reporter shared.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will soon wave goodbye to what has likely been the worst year of their professional lives, but with no announcements for upcoming projects, 2024 looks just as bleak. Meanwhile, for the monarchy and its senior members, "business as usual" continues.
