The future queen is apparently not well protected by her team, as Kate, Princess of Wales, seems to be surrounded by people who want to "bring her down."

Royal expert Tom Bower shared this sentiment and further stated: "People around the world just want to bring her down because it gives them pleasure. And unfortunately, the Palace had played it very badly. They should not have persuaded her even to pose for the photograph."

Kate, Princess of Wales' U.K. Mother's Day photo for 2024 was 'heavily altered.'

"And then, when she did, they should have got a professional photographer in to make sure there were no hiccups like has now occurred," he added.

Bower also shared how the consort to the heir to the throne is "vulnerable" following her "major abdominal operation" not even two months ago.

He continued: "She's undergone the most very serious operation imaginable. She needs a long time to recover. And I fear that she has been under terrible pressure to perform, and instead of protecting her, her staff in Kensington Palace failed to give her the support and protection she needs."

The future queen released a photograph on Sunday, March 10, that featured herself, and her three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. A huge controversy arose sometime later when major media outlets such as the Associated Press and Reuters recalled the image due to suspicious alterations found within it. The snap was taken by Prince William and is the first clear image of the princess since Christmas Day 2023.

Scouts on social media noticed a litany of editing mishaps, with Charlotte's hands being called out as "clearly cut and paste" from previous images. Conspiracies even arose that the photo of the Princess of Wales was an old image from when she appeared in a magazine years ago.

Kate issued an apology for altering the image on her and William's social media accounts, which is a rare thing for a senior, British royal to do. Monarchy traditionalists quickly scolded Her Royal Highness for "playing to the gallery," which is one of the distinctions of royalty in that no response "kills the sensationalism," according to a palace insider.

"I think she made an honest mistake and it's not a serious mistake at all. People have just jumped on it," Bower observed.

"There are Republicans and mischief makers who want to do everything now, to destroy the monarchy, to destroy Britain as it is today, who don't share our values and see Kate as a soft target, an easy target, and another target to seek to undermine British values and British tradition," the author concluded.

In keeping with this sentiment, one source close to palace courtiers shared how this story "has created a field day for amateur anarchists, trolls, and all sorts of other miserables" in their apparent criticisms of the princess and the altered photo.
