'Real Housewives Of New York' Stars LuAnn De Lesseps, Ramona Singer & Sonja Morgan Reportedly Demoted To 'Friend Of' Roles For Next Season
As the once fan-favorite The Real Housewives Of New York, struggles to gain viewers, the network is looking to shake things up for the next season.
According to Radar, veteran housewives Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan have reportedly been offered "friend of" roles for the upcoming season.
Singer has appeared on the hit reality show since it's premiere season in 2008. De Lesseps has been a full time housewife for 12 seasons except for season 6 where she appeared as a friend. Morgan joined the show during season 3.
A source dished, “Bravo just came to Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan and is requesting they come back as “friends” for next season.” Another insider claimed that the 56-year-old cabaret star has completely shut down the idea and that 64-year-old Singer will probably reject the offer as well. The network reportedly feels that Morgan may accept the role but nothing is confirmed.
Although Bravo fanatics may think this is due to the lack luster season that has seen extremely low ratings, it may actually be due to the expensive salaries of the long time cast members. “Ramona is the highest paid with Lu right behind her,” the source explained.
With Bravo trying to figure out what to do with the show, there has still been no set date for a reunion for the current season.

A source told Radar, “There is still no confirmed date to shoot the reunion show after it being postponed twice. First, August 5th is canceled and now the September date has been canceled too. But even more concerning, there is no date to start filming season 14 on the books and talk about putting the show on permanent hiatus.”
The insider also spilled to the news outlet, that the producers are allegedly considering taking a break from the show for a couple of months and then will revisit bringing the show back in the later part of 2022.
This news comes after OK! exclusively reported back in July, that allegedly the reunion was going to be canceled and that after having a cringe-worthy season, Singer was going to be let go from the show.
“Ramona has pulled out of taping the reunion special that was scheduled for the first week of August. Andy [Cohen] is freaking out, and there is even talk of legal action as Ramona is in breach of contract,” the source explained.
"Ramona is sick of all the race talk. She knows she’s going to be destroyed at the reunion and isn’t willing to go through with it if she’s already out. This is why Bravo didn’t want the news about Ramona getting out until after they taped the reunion,” the insider stated.
