Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Reveals He's Four Months Sober, Plans To Return To 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation'
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is getting himself back on track — and back to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
The 35-year-old shared an update on his life with TMZ — and revealed he's ready to return to the MTV reality series after a brief hiatus.
“I feel great, man. Four months sober, I quit drinking,” he told the outlet on Thursday, August 27, in Beverly Hills. "Got engaged, full-time father, you know, living a good life."
“I stepped away [from Jersey Shore] to deal with my mental health, be a father to my child, be a fiancé to my woman,” he explained. “I’ll be back and, you know, all the fans love me and I love them too so I’m gonna give them what they want and I’ll see them soon.”
Ortiz-Magro plans to return for the end of the show's fifth season after announcing in May that he would be taking a break from the hit show.

“After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I’ve ignored for too long,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “My number one goal now is facing my struggles head on."
The reality star has been keeping busy in the meantime, including getting engaged to his girlfriend Saffire Matos. On June 21, Ortiz-Magro announced the exciting news on Instagram.
“I love you 💕 Thank you for sticking by my side through thick and thin! Til death do us part! #SheSaidYes,” he captioned the post.
His 3-year-old daughter Ariana — who he shares with ex-girlfriend Jen Harley — was also in attendance when he popped the question, along with the rest of his family, according to a PEOPLE source.
“Ronnie has been taken this time to work on himself and his daughter,” the source said. “They’re both really happy for this next chapter. His health and happiness are what is most important.”
