Rosanne Cash is taking a step back from the stage as she recovers from an unexpected medical emergency.
The four-time Grammy winner, 71, has postponed three upcoming dates on her current tour after her doctors advised her to temporarily stop traveling and performing.

Rosanne Cash Postpones Three Tour Dates Following Unexpected Medical Emergency
Three of Rosanne Cash’s September shows have been postponed.
Cash's management team shared the news on her Instagram page on Monday, September 7, explaining that the singer-songwriter is currently recovering under medical supervision.
“Rosanne Cash must postpone her performances due to an unexpected medical emergency,” the statement read.
“She is recovering under her doctors’ supervision, who have recommended a temporary restriction on travel and performing. This restriction is impacting her upcoming Wyoming and Montana shows. Rosanne deeply regrets the cancellation and looks forward to rescheduling appearances," they added.
At this time, new dates for the postponed concerts have not been announced.
Rosanne Cash has yet to announce new dates for the shows.
Despite the unexpected setback, Cash's touring schedule is expected to continue later this month. She is currently scheduled to perform in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on September 19, followed by a series of European appearances in October. She is also slated to return to Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on November 9, with additional Southern California dates scheduled for January 2027.
Cash, the eldest daughter of the late country music icon Johnny Cash, has spent decades carving out a celebrated career of her own. Since releasing her debut album in 1978, she has put out more than a dozen studio albums and explored everything from country and pop to Americana.
The singer-songwriter behind hits including “Seven Year Ache” and “I Don’t Know Why You Don’t Want Me” was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015.

Rosanne Cash Once Opened Up About Her Father, Johnny Cash's Influence
Johnny Cash played a major role in shaping Rosanne Cash’s musical journey.
Cash has often spoken about the profound influence her the “Ring of Fire” singer had on her musical journey.
During a 2009 appearance on "Fresh Air," she recalled how Johnny introduced her to the music that shaped his life and eventually hers.
“When I was 18 years old, I went on the road with my dad after I graduated from high school,” she said. Rosanne remembered that her father became “very alarmed” when she didn't recognize some of the songs he mentioned.
“So he spent the rest of the afternoon making a list for me,” she recalled.
What began as her father's personal musical recommendations eventually became much more meaningful to her.
“He covered every critical point in Southern and American music,” she explained, recalling the list that included folk, protest songs, Delta blues, gospel, country and Appalachian music.
Johnny Cash died on September 12, 2003.
Rosanne eventually recorded those songs for her 2009 album The List, describing her father's gesture as something deeply personal.
“I realized when he gave me the list at the age of 18 that this was an important document. But it took me, I think, until now to realize that he was really giving me himself, a part of his heart and soul," she said.
