'RuPaul's Drag Race' Star Widow Von'Du Arrested For Alleged Domestic Violence
RuPaul's Drag Race star Widow Von'Du was arrested Monday, May 31, on domestic violence charges.
A representative for the Kansas City Police Department told PEOPLE that they responded to a call on Saturday, May 29, around 6 p.m. and "contacted the victim who reported an assault."
Von'Du — whose legal name is Ray Fry — was charged with one count of domestic assault in the first-degree and three counts of domestic assault in the second-degree.
She was released on Tuesday, June 1, after posting $5,000 of her $50,000 bond, according to court records. In the meantime, she is on house arrest, cannot contact the alleged victim or witnesses, and cannot possess or be in the presence of firearms. Her next court date is slated for June 7.
According to TMZ, Von'Du reportedly arrived home on Friday night and was upset to find her boyfriend sleeping there. Her boyfriend reportedly told cops she was in an "intoxicated" state.
The boyfriend — who was not named — alleged that he was punched in the face several times, strangled, dragged across the floor and was rendered unconscious when he was pushed into a bed frame, TMZ reported.
He said he was able to escape and find help, before being hospitalized. He reportedly needed 14 stitches on his face and neck. According to the outlet, authorities saw his injuries and found a probable cause to get an arrest warrant for Von'Du after a preliminary investigation.

A video of the arrest circulated online. "[The police are] taking me down because I was assaulted in my own apartment as someone else would not understand that his privilege does not extend to my apartment," Von'Du said in the clip.
"I'm being arrested for defending myself in my apartment," Von'Du added. "And just because his ass got beat up because he would not leave when I asked five times, I'm being arrested … instead of someone being arrested for violating me."
The investigation is ongoing.
Von'Du was a contestant on season 12 RuPaul's Drag Race.
