'Sister Wives' Stars Janelle Brown & Kody Brown Get Into Argument Over Holiday Plans Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic: 'There's No Optimism'
As season 16 of Sister Wives kicks off, there is more tension within the family than ever.
In a preview for the Sunday, November 21, episode via Us Weekly, Kody Brown along with wives Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown got together to figure out how they would navigate getting their large family together for the holidays during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I can’t tell you guys what to do,” the father-of-18 told his wives about planning the Christmas activities. “I can decide what I’m gonna do. And if the family wants to get together, they can figure it out too.”
Janelle, 52, explained to Kody, 52, that although there may be risks — it was of the most importance to get everyone together because their older children would be home. “I don’t know how long the virus is gonna last, but I’m not gonna have a big Christmas gathering,” the television personality said standing his ground.
“So, basically, unless we all observe his uber, uber, uber careful stance, forget holidays,” Janelle told the camera about Kody's stance. “I don’t know. I guess there’s really just nothing to say but wow. … There’s no optimism. It’s like doomsday.”

“The relationships are struggling,” Robyn, 43, revealed in her confessional. “My relationship with Kody is struggling because he’s not seeing his family as much. I feel very helpless here.”
This is not the only time that the blended family's struggle will be featured on the latest season of the hit TLC show. As OK! previously reported, a trailer via PEOPLE showed Christine — who recently split with Kody after 25 years — admitting their marriage is "sad."
"Marriage is hard, but I never wanted the kind of marriage that I have now. I never wanted to be so estranged and have extremely limited physical contact, not even hand holding," she said in the clip. "It's sad, my marriage to Kody is sad."
On November 2, both Christine and Kody announced that they were officially going their separate ways. “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” Christine wrote in a note posted to Instagram.
