The Band Perry’s Neil Perry Accuses Sister Kimberly of Betrayal After He Was 'Terminated' From Group

The Band Perry’s Neil Perry slammed his sister, Kimberly Perry, in explosive Instagram posts.

The family band, which originally consisted of Neil, Kimberly, and their brother Reid Perry, went on an indefinite hiatus in 2023.

In 2025, the band rebranded as a duo act consisting of Kimberly and her husband, Johnny Costello. Although the transition came as a shock to many, Neil suggested that the real story might be even more surprising.

The Band Perry's former mandolin player recently wiped his official account clean and made three fiery posts bringing their family feud into the spotlight.

In the first post, he could be seen walking into a room filled with musical instruments and awards before sitting down on a chair without saying a word.

He cheekily overlaid the video with text that read, “Preparing for my Netflix documentary about how The Band Perry went from three siblings to my sister and her husband.”

He made another post which featured a clip from Succession in which Jeremy Strong’s character, Kendall Roy, tried to sound reassuring while lying about his close bond with his siblings.

The video was followed by two other clips. One featured Kimberly’s interview with Rolling Stone in February, in which she said her brothers would be “cheering” for her and her husband “from the bleachers.”

Another clip contained footage from Kimberly and Johnny’s March appearance on “The Bobbycast,” where she said the band’s drastic rearrangement was “not strategic” on her part.

“My sister wanted her husband to become a member of the band, taking my brother’s place. I made it equally clear that I was not okay with that,” he wrote in the caption.

“By then, the situation had become about far more than the lineup. I had witnessed instability and broken trust that fundamentally changed my ability to move forward,” he continued.

“Weeks later, I was terminated. The day after my birthday,” he added.

He concluded the caption, writing, “The anger became music. The grief became songs. The loss became freedom. June 2024 took the old life. @wolvesofjune is what came next.”

The account he tagged appears to be a new musical identity he is adopting as he moves forward.

Neil made another carousel post soon after, detailing the story of their disbanding from his perspective.

“I explicitly asked my sister not to misrepresent my support for the current version of the band,” he wrote in the first slide.

“By May of 2024, none of us were consistently on speaking terms, and Reid had stopped engaging in both personal and business matters,” he continued.

“Kimberly came to me about bringing the band out of hiatus, and we initially agreed that moving forward with Reid was not something we were prepared to do,” he added.

He explained that their sister still reached out to Reid, but “he confirmed he was not interested.”

“I was then presented with three options: move forward as a duo, hold auditions or have her husband step in. I was fine with the first two, but soon understood Kimberly wanted to move forward with the third,” he stated, adding that they “ultimately decided not to proceed.”

The Band Perry's former backup vocalist then claimed that his brother “rejoined the band through conversations I was not part of,” and that his two siblings gave him three days to decide whether he wanted to rejoin the band.

“I asked for a conversation the following week and was told I was out of time,” he alleged.

He acknowledged that he was approached with the offer again a month later, “but [he] could not move forward under those circumstances.”

He realized by that point that, “continuing to tour was no longer realistically an option for me and I would soon be forced out by the 2/3 partnership agreement.”

“What I did not agree to was losing my financial interest and access to the resources and business I had spent my life helping build,” he remarked.

He wrote in conclusion, “Shortly after the band signed a label deal, my brother left the band. What remained is my sister and her husband.”
