Prince Philip Dies Aged 99
Philip passed away on April 9 at the age of 99. The Duke Of Edinburgh would have celebrated his 100th birthday in June and was the longest serving royal consort.
Meghan Marke & Prince Harry's Oprah Winfrey Interview Airs
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey aired in March, in which the couple discussed their departure from royal life.
The Suits alum alleged that she was suicidal during her time as a working royal. The couple also claimed that an unnamed member of the royal family — who was not the Queen or Prince Philip — had "concerns" about their son, Archie’s, skin color before he was born.
Meghan & Harry Wecome Second Child
Meghan and Harry welcomed their second child in June. The pair named their daughter Lilibet Diana after Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, and his grandmother.

Princess Eugenie Welcomes First Child
The Queen got another great-grandchild in 2021! Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, in February. Eugenie named her first child after her grandfather, Prince Philip.

Barbados Removes The Queen As Head Of State
In November, Barbados removed the Queen as head of state, and Dame Sandra Mason was sworn in as president. Prince Charles attended the transition ceremony. During a speech, the heir to the British throne acknowledged "the appalling atrocity of slavery, which forever stains our history" and said "the people of this island forged their path with extraordinary fortitude."
