Wendy Williams' Staffers Are 'Sucking Up' To New Boss Sherri Shepherd: Shows's Crew Is 'Desperately Trying To Prove Their Loyalty'
The Wendy Williams Show staffers appear to be scrambling as Sherri Shepherd is set to take the reins — and possibly bring in her own staff, leaving Wendy Williams' crew members out of a job.
“Everyone is sucking up to Sherri and her team so they can keep their jobs," an insider spilled to Radar after news that the actress was taking over the show made headlines earlier this week. "They are all desperately trying to prove their loyalty to Sherri.”
“At the moment they are saying that the entire Wendy staff will be transferred over to Sherri’s show, but there is no way Sherri isn’t going to want to bring in her own people and replace them," the source candidly pointed out.
Shepherd is already making major changes, as Radar reported she's bringing in her own executive producer and friend, Jawn Murray, to serve alongside Williams' longtime executive producer David Perler.

“You can’t blame Sherri this is her show now and she is going to put her own stamp on it. Wendy liked shady people and folks that could be mean girls, Sherri is much kinder than Wendy and doesn’t like drama,” added another insider while noting the differences between the daytime diva and fan-favorite guest host. “When her show debuts in September expect to see a lot of new faces, both on-air and behind-the-scenes."

Eagle-eyed fans already pointed out how careful Williams' former staffers have been with saying goodbye to their long-time boss, with the source dishing: "They want to be respectful of Wendy, but don’t want to piss Sherri off."
Meanwhile, the 57-year-old has been watching her show being taken out from under her as her ongoing health woes continue to plague her career and life. Williams hasn't returned to her famed purple chair since July 2021, as she stepped back ahead of the Season 12 premiere in September.
Though insiders previously insisted she's lost her spark, it seems her feisty side has returned, as a Radar source spilled she's considering taking her former producers to court.
"She is considering legal action again her producers and is also deciding on what to do about Sherri Shepherd," said the source. "Sherri was supposed to be a friend filling in for Wendy while she was sick, but instead, Sherri stabbed Wendy in the back. If anyone thinks Wendy is going to disappear without a fight they are a fool."
Immediately after it was announced Williams' show would be coming to an end and Shepherd's own show will kick off in the Fall, the author's rep released a statement on her behalf without her consent.
In response, Williams — who has since fired her management team — took to her Instagram Story and declared he had no right to speak for her.
