Find Out What Changes Are In Store For 16 & Pregnant—And What To Know About A Potential Teen Mom 4!
Get excited, because 2015 is going to be a huge year for the Teen Mom franchise. The original girls (minus Farrah Abraham) are returning with a comeback season (reportedly sometime this month!), while the Teen Mom 2 girls are already filming their upcoming sixth season. But according to various legit sources, 16 & Pregnant is switching things up for season 6 —and we might be getting a Teen Mom 4!
PHOTOS: 7 Reasons Why 2015 Will Be The Best Year Yet For The Teen Moms
Let’s start with the 16 & Pregnant news. According to Susanne Daniels, a programming director for MTV, the upcoming sixth season, which is now casting, will follow the Teen Mom format. So instead of having a new girl featured in each of the 12 episodes per season, the new season will follow the same four girls the whole time and their stories “will carry over from week to week,” according to TV site The TV Page. Interesting!
As for the talk of a Teen Mom 4? Nothing has been confirmed yet by the network. However, various sites including Teen Mom Junkies and All The Teen Moms have pointed out that last week’s catch-up special with the cast of 16 & Pregant season 5 was most likely a test to see how well a fourth Teen Mom francise would do. Apparently, the network wanted it to get at least 1 million viewers in order to be considered for a spin-off show.

If it does get the go-ahead, TM4 would feature four girls from 16 & Pregnant season 5. Fan pages and blogs are saying that Maddy, Autumn, Millina, Savannah, Summer, Savon, Aleah, and Jordan are our potential candidates, since the girls who didn’t participate in the catch-up special aren’t eligible to partake in Teen Mom. Got all that?!
Maddy Godsey, whose episode was the first to air last season and is one of the season’s highest-rated, seems to be on-board for a Teen Mom 4, even retweeting fans who say they’d watch if she was on it!
However, since Teen Mom 3 was cancelled after just one season which aired in the summer of 2013, it wouldn’t be surprising if MTV didn’t move forward with a fourth season after all since it's a ratings gamble. Besides, keeping up with the girls of Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 is a job in and of itself—we don't know how much more we can handle!
