In Case You Missed It: The 6 Most Shocking Moments From ‘The Bachelorette’ Premiere
May 29 2018, Updated 12:56 p.m. ET
Becca Kufrin started her season of The Bachelorette last night after going through the most dramatic finale in Bachelor history earlier this year. The two-hour premiere was not without its shocking moments, which included one of her suitors showing up in a chicken suit and another knowing who she was personally before the show started.
Before her journey began, Becca sat down with previous Bachelorettes Kaitlyn Bristowe, JoJo Fletcher and Rachel Lindsay, who shared their own horror stories from their individual seasons. They also sage the mansion and Rachel dropped the F bomb regarding her feelings towards Becca’s ex-suitor Arie Luyendyk Jr, saying “Please don’t edit this out: F**k Arie.”
The arrivals were nothing short of shocking if not memorable this season, as we had a colorful cast of contestants who went out of their way to impress Becca in a variety of ways. This included David, who showed up in a chicken suit (and stayed that way all night long).
Other memorable moments where the guys did their best to show off included former Harlem Globetrotter Christon, who did a huge dunk over Becca, and Mike who actually showed up with a cardboard cutout of Arie.

Two contestants definitely ruffled some feathers during the premiere, one of which was Jake, who is from Becca’s hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They knew each other prior to the show beginning, which factored into why she eliminated him before the first rose ceremony because she didn’t know what his intentions were.
Another contestant that became a topic of drama throughout the evening was Chase, who was accused of being a bad dude by fellow suitor Chris R. Chris said he received a text from Chase’s ex girlfriend, saying his intentions were to hang out with the other guys there and to revitalize his marketing business but ultimately not for Becca. She later eliminated Chase during the rose ceremony, but kept Chris around.
Becca’s first impression rose went to medical sales rep Garrett, who showed up in a minivan. She said that he “made me feel so comfortable” in regards to why she chose him. Other Bachelorettes Kaitlyn, JoJo, and Rachel all ended up with the man they gave their first impression rose to… will it ring true as well for Becca and Garrett?
