Fans were shocked to learn that Hugh Jackman was a real-life hero when he rescued his son, daughter and other surfers in Australia, and now there are pictures to prove it!

The 47-year-old actor helped swimmers get away from a potentially dangerous rip at Bondi Beach.

His 15-year-old son Oscar and daughter Ava, 10, were also in the water, and he helped them too.

"I saw them rescue a whole lot of people, so hats off to the guys at North Bondi and Bondi, it was rough surf that day," Jackman told The Sydney Morning Herald.

He continued: “It wasn't as dramatic as it sounded or looked, but it was a little bit of a rip that sort of happened. I think if you're not from Australia, all that stuff seems way more scary than if you grow up with it. It's not so bad.”
