Abby Lee Miller is thankful! Just days after the former Dance Moms star underwent emergency surgery, the former reality star shared a selfie from her hospital bed.
"So much gratitude and love for those who listened, those who looked deeper and those who leapt into action," she captioned the hospital selfie. Adding, "So much more I wish I could say......about how quickly your life can change at the hands of others. Thanks for ??❤️ #abbyleemiller #abbylee #aldc #aldcla #aldcalways #dancemoms #iwilldance."
The photo comes after it was learned just one day after she underwent emergency surgery for what doctors thought was a nearly fatal spinal infection, she has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma — a cancer of the lympatchic system, People reported.
"It was not an infection, it was a type of a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – it’s a type of a cancer," Abby Lee's orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Hooman M. Melamed told People. He's been treating the star at Cedar Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital.
"We’re getting an oncologist involved and we have to figure out what the next steps are as far as chemotherapy or radiation or more spine surgery," Dr. Melamed continued. "Depending on the tumor type, depending on the sensitivity of the tumor – it just depends the type but I feel more than yes, she will undergo chemotherapy or radiation."

This diagnosis is still preliminary, according to the surgeon, and "pending pathology and oncology results.”
The diagnosis comes just one day after Abby Lee nearly died from an alleged spinal infection. “If we didn’t do something, she was going to die,” Dr. Melamed previously told People. “Her blood pressure was bottoming out. She was not doing well.”
Dr. Melamed described Abby Lee as "encouraged." He added that they still weren't in the clear just yet and there was a chance the cancer could "spread to any part of the body … this is probably coming from somewhere else. We don’t know where the source is. Any tumor that spreads anywhere is automatically Stage 4, but we have not determined the stage yet."
