Adrienne Houghton (née Bailon) and her hubby, gospel singer Israel Houghton, became fast friends after meeting five years ago. But the two didn't pursue a romantic relationship until six months before their wedding. Now she's opening up how she fell in love. Keep reading for all the juicy info.
The lovebirds met briefly at an event at the Christian Cultural Center in New York. Israel told Yahoo! Lifestyle about how their lives seemed to be changing at the same time when they met. “I just remember both of us going through pretty seismic changes in our lives, and kind of sharing our story with each other. And out of that came this, ‘I like hanging out with you.'"
They started out as friends, and the former Cheetah Girl was adamant on finding a woman for Israel to date. She said that she was so persistent to set up her friends with him, it came "to the point where one of her girl friends was like, ‘Well, damn, if you like him so much, why don’t you date him?'”
The singers had some interesting first dates that helped cement their status as GF and BF. For their date, Israel and Adrienne headed to Mexico where the paps got some shots of them and started spinning some crazy stories. “It was a mess,” Israel explained. “They said I was a sheik from Dubai.” Adrienne clarified: “He was an Arab sheik that was paying for my lifestyle.”

And so when I turned around to throw the rose petals, he was on his knee.”
The I'm In Love With A Church Girl actress and the "Friend Of God" singer married on November 11, 2016. Adrienne is next planning to become a mom and expand her family.
