Amanda Bynes Joins Instagram Months After Entering Rehab For Stress-Induced Relapse

Welcome to social media, Amanda Bynes! The actress joined Instagram on Tuesday, September 10, and made her first post.

The 33-year-old celebrated her new social media profile with a colorful selfie. In the snap, Amanda sported a wavy bright pink hair, a diamond septum piercing, a loose white tee and a light pink pearl necklace.

Her account is called "amandabynesreal" and she announced the news of her IG via Twitter. The What A Girl Wants actress tweeted, "Hey guys! I'm on instagram now ! Check me out." The last time she tweeted was in June after her graduation from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Many of the Amanda Show star's fans took to the comments to congratulate her and welcome her to the IG community. "Welcome back, queen!!! ❤️❤️❤️," gossip blogger Perez Hilton wrote. One fan said, "Hope you’re doing well! love u!" One follower gushed, "Yes!! The Queen finally has IG ?❤️!" Another user commented, "Queen Amanda is back."

Amanda graduated from FIDM earlier this summer. She tweeted a pic of herself wearing a black cap and gown at the time. She attended the ceremony shortly after admitting herself into a rehab for a stress-induced relapse.

The relapse was due to increased media attention following a candid interview for Paper Magazine from November 2018 that went viral. The What I Like About You alum was thrust back into the spotlight after speaking candidly about her mental health, her past drug use, and her desire to return to the acting world.

In January 2019, she checked into a mental health treatment center. She entered a facility in Los Angeles to deal with her drug addiction and health issues. She was granted a day pass to attend her graduation and receive her diploma. “She was able to get an outing pass for a few hours for the special occasion, so she could walk with the other students. But she left a little early and was back at the facility at the end of the graduation,” a source told People at the time.
