Angela Simmons’ ex-fiancé Sutton Tennyson was murdered just steps from his own home less than a week ago. The man suspected of killing him has now turned himself into the authorities. Read on for the latest.
Atlanta native Michael Williams and his lawyer Jackie Patterson headed to the local police station yesterday, November 7. The police were told not to question the suspect.
Once taken into custody he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and murder.
Reportedly, Sutton was shot after an argument with the other man escalated. By the time police arrived to the scene, he was dead having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. According to People, the suspect quickly “sped from the scene in a car.”
Jackie insists his client is innocent and in a statement to People he said, “We are fighting this case vigorously, all the way to a jury trial. It’s gonna be a long process.”
Angela, who shares her 2-year-old son with Sutton, took to Instagram on Sunday and posted a heartbreaking tribute to her ex. Under a picture of Sutton and little Sutton Joseph she wrote in part, “Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift. I’m hurting . I’m numb.”
