Peter Weber has been seen for the first time since he suffered a horrific accident while filming The Bachelor in Costa Rica. The reality star was rushed to the hospital after he split his head open during a game of golf and needed 22 stitches. On October 22, a fan spotted Peter, 28, in Peru, as he was filming scenes for the upcoming season of the ABC dating competition show.
Sabryna Salazar was vacationing in Peru when she found the airline pilot and took advantage of the photo op. “He didn’t seem to be hurting,” Sabryna told Radar. Peter had a bandage across his forehead from where the stitches were removed on October 14.
As readers know, Peter was sent to the hospital following a facial injury he suffered while playing golf. According to RadarOnline.com, the reality star was drinking on the golf course on October 7. As he attempted to step into a cart, he fell, and split open his face. Peter had sliced his face open on two cocktail glasses that he was carrying as he stepped into the golf cart.
The airline pilot received 22 stitches on his forehead after a two-hour drive to a hospital in San Jose, which had a surgeon that specialized in his type of injuries. Thirty-three contestants were flown into Costa Rica from Ohio the day after the accident.

The Bachelor host Chris Harrison said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter at the time: “Peter suffered a freak accident. He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he’s 100 percent OK and production is already back underway. He’s still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.” Production for the new season stayed on schedule despite Peter’s injury.
Although he was a fan favorite, “Pilot Pete” and former Bachelorette Hannah Brown received major backlash for admitting that they had sex four times in a windmill on their fantasy suite date.
He also was under fire after he was accused of dumping his girlfriend, Calee Lutes, to star on the dating competition show. Peter denied the claims and said that the show had nothing to do with him ending their relationship.
Peter was announced the latest Bachelor on September 17. His season of The Bachelor is set to air on ABC in January 2020.
