Ben Affleck couldn't care less what anyone thinks of his phoenix tattoo! The Triple Frontier actor defended the massive back tattoo on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he revealed that "it represents something really important to me.” Scroll through to find out what he said!
In March 2018, paparazzi photographed the actor's huge back tattoo while he was filming a movie on the beach. Ben is finally getting candid about his new ink.
"You all went swimming together and there was a photo of your back tattoo that got a lot of attention," Ellen, 61, said to Ben, 46. "It did, not so much positive," Ben joked. "It's a commitment," Ellen joked back.
"It's a phoenix," the father-of-three started to explain. "Rising from your a**," Ellen jokingly interrupted. "It represents something really important to me," he laughed after her comment. "It's meaningful to me, I like it. It's not something that I kept private."

"We were two hours north of the city in Hawaii and we didn't know that paparazzi would be there. So they got a picture of my tattoo. The sentiment ran against... but I love my tattoo, I'm happy with it," the star concluded.
Ben, who is promoting his new Netflix film, Triple Frontier, also talked to Ellen about how he is doing after finishing up his treatment for alcoholism in August 2018. "I feel so good now, I'm in such a good place. The kids are healthy, life is good. So whatever it took for me to get to this place I'm grateful," he said on the talk show.
