Bethenny Frankel is mourning the loss of her ex-boyfriend Dennis Shields. The Real Housewives of New York City star was spotted breaking down at Dennis’ funeral on Monday morning, just days after he was found dead in his Trump Tower apartment of an apparent drug overdose.
Bethenny arrived via a private car to the somber service, which was held on Long Island. She wore all black and was escorted by a man holding an umbrella to shield her from the rainy weather.
Bethenny was later seen at the cemetery, where she took comfort in a friend as she broke down crying.
On Friday, Dennis was found dead in his apartment after reportedly overdosing on prescription pills. Dennis realized he was overdosing and asked an assistant to administer Narcan, a nasal spray used to reverse the effects of a narcotic overdose, but it was too late, People reported.

Bethenny and Dennis had dated on and off since 2016, but the two were broken up at the time of his death. Bethenny’s friend and costar Sonja Morgan said despite their break up, Dennis was Bethenny’s “rock.”
“Dennis was important to her, and her daughter. Another tragedy in her life. I’m so sad for her,” she told Radar exclusively.
“This saddens me to no end because it seems to be never-ending for her,” Sonja told the site, adding, “My heart goes out to Dennis’ ex-wife and children.”
