Beyoncé already decided what – or rather who – she wanted to be for Halloween this year. The Grammy Award winner chose to throw it back and become musical legend Toni Braxton, specifically during her breakout in 1993 for “Another Sad Love Song.” Scroll below for more details.
Rather than calling herself Toni, Beyoncé pointedly labeled herself Phoni Braxton in a series of side-by-side Instagram photos. The “Formation” singer recreated the looks in Toni’s cover and wrote a touching tribute.
See for yourself! The 37-year-old looked practically identical to the “Another Sad Love Song” singer in 1993 as she wore a white tank top, a leather jacket around her shoulders, Chanel earrings, a red lip and styled her hair short just like the music legend.
Beyoncé captioned the photo, “Sending love and adoration to one of our talented legends. Thank you for the countless bops.”

She continued, “Your tone, your beauty, your range, and your God-given talent is treasured. Loving you always. Have a Happy Halloween my Kings and Queens.”
“Another Sad Love Song” earned the 51-year-old her first Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten hit and the self-titled album Toni Braxton that included the single was rewarded with three Grammy Awards.
