Enough Already! Caitlyn Jenner Admits She Purposely Avoided Spelling Her Name With A 'K'

When Caitlyn Jenner revealed she was transitioning from Bruce to Cait two years ago, many wondered what the former Keeping Up with the Kardashians star's new name would be. Her ex, Kris Jenner, began a tradition long ago of giving all her daughters names that begin with the letter “K.” It only seemed natural that Caitlyn might go that same route, but instead, Caitlyn shocked everyone when she opted to begin her name with the letter “C!” Now, Caitlyn is opening up about the struggle to decide on a new identity in her memoir, The Secrets of My Life, which RadarOnline.com first obtained, and why there was no way she was going with a "K" name!
At first, Caitlyn’s favorite name was Heather, which she first liked all the way back in college. “There was a singing group at college called the Serendipity Singers and one of their numbers was a song called ‘Heather,’” she wrote. “I thought Heather was a cool name because the song was so cool.”
However, “after college the name faded away. I thought about something simple, like Mary.” And Mary soon gave way to Kathy. “Kathy popped into my head,” she revealed. “But Kathy seemed like…well…Kathy.”

After going back and forth, Cait’s assistant and best friend Ronda suggested the name Caitlyn. But no matter how much she liked the name, Cait insists it would never have been spelled with a "K."
“However it was spelled, there was no way I was going to have a name now that began with a K,” she insisted, much to the chagrin of her stepdaughter Kim Kardashian, who was hoping Cait would “stick with the K’s.” Added Cait, “That would have been beyond creepy.”
