Buddy Valastro is barely recognizable these days! The Cake Boss star shared a pic on Instagram, in which it’s easy to see he’s dropped quite a bit of weight recently.
In the pic, Buddy smiles alongside his wife Lisa. He looks amazing in white slacks, a button-up shirt, and grey blazer.
Buddy admitted in the caption that fans have been asking him the reason behind his new slimmed-down look. The famous baker credited the Optavia program with helping him lose the extra pounds. “I’m not being paid to say this and it should be noted that I think every body is different and you should do whatever suits you but this is what I’m doing and I’m very happy with the results so far!” Buddy wrote.
“Good for you!!” one fan wrote. “Way to go buddy! Keep going!” wrote another.

This time last year, Buddy was mourning the loss of his mom Mary Valastro to ALS. The Carlo’s Bakery matriarch passed away from complications related to pneumonia after an eight-year battle with the disease. At the time, Buddy vowed to keep running the family’s legendary bakeshop chain in honor of his mom.
“She doesn’t want me to stop,” he told People. “She wants me to be the patriarch of the family and keep doing what I’m doing, 100 percent. There’s not even a doubt in my mind.”
